Feudalism: Feudalism is a set of socio-economic and politico-Military relations that were common during medieval Europe. “Feudalism” does not represent a formal political or social system. It was, According to François-Louis Ganshof, reciprocal legal and military obligations among the warrior nobility, revolving around the three key concepts of lords, vassals and fiefs. It was a dominant social system in medieval Europe, in which the nobility held lands from the Crown in exchange for military service, and vassals were in turn tenants of the nobles, while the peasants (villeins or serfs) were obliged to live on their lord’s land and give him homage, labour, and a share of the produce, notionally, in exchange for military protection. Feudalism is generally associated with the disintegration of the central power, Trade and commerce, monetary system and often more conservative social structure.
