Archeologists look at Burials and Luxurious Utensils to find about social differences.
Burials :
a) In Harappan burials, dead people were put in pits. Sometimes, the pit was lined with bricks, which shows that some people had more importance than others.
b) Some graves had pottery and ornaments in them, which suggests that people believed in life after death. Both men and women were buried with jewellery.
c) A man was buried with three shell rings, a jasper bead, and many micro beads near his head. Some people were also buried with copper mirrors, but valuable things were not usually buried with the dead.
Looking for Luxuries:
d) Archaeologists can find out about social differences by looking at artifacts. There are two types of artifacts: utilitarian ones that were used every day, and luxury ones that were rare and made from expensive materials.
e) Luxury objects are usually found in bigger settlements like Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa, and were probably owned by rich and important people. They were made from valuable materials like faience, beads, and micro beads.
