Poor are real minorities : N.G.Ranga

• N.G. Ranga, a socialist and peasant movement leader, welcomed the Objectives Resolution but urged the term "minorities" to be interpreted in economic terms

• Ranga believed that the real minorities were the poor and downtrodden and that constitutional rights needed to be effectively enjoyed by creating conditions for their protection

• Ranga also pointed out the gulf between the Constituent Assembly and the broad masses of Indians they were supposed to represent
